THE LINDA PACE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES PRESENTATION OF TEN THOUSAND WAVES, A NEW THREE-SCREEN VIDEO INSTALLATION BY ACCLAIMED BRITISH ARTIST ISAAC JULIEN
The Linda Pace Foundation announces the presentation of a special three-screen edition of TEN THOUSAND WAVES by Isaac Julien. The work was co-commissioned by the Foundation in 2009, and its presentation continues the organization’s mission to support the work of contemporary artists. The presentation will be inaugurated with a special event, a conversation between Julien and Steven Evans, Executive Director and Curator of the Linda Pace Foundation, on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the private exhibition space of the Foundation located at 114 Camp Street in San Antonio. The Trustees and staff of the Linda Pace Foundation warmly congratulate Teresita Fernández on her appointment by President Barack Obama to the United States Commission of Fine Arts, the federal panel that advises the President, Congress, and governmental agencies on national matters of aesthetics and design. One of seven commissioners appointed by the President, she will take part in approving the site and design of national memorials and museums, advising the U.S. Mint on the design of coins and medals, and administering the National Capital Arts and Cultural Affairs program.
Fernández is a 2005 MacArthur Foundation fellow, a recipient of the Louis Comfort Tiffany Award, and a 1998 Artpace International Artist-in-Residence. She is widely recognized for her installation works and public sculptures.
Within the Linda Pace Foundation collection, Fernández is represented by five remarkable works. Additionally, she conceived visual experiences installed throughout CHRISpark, the one-acre public park at 111 Camp Street in San Antonio operated by the Linda Pace Foundation.

The Linda Pace Foundation announces a major acquisition and related exhibition of sound sculpture Sunset Song, 2003, by Susan Philipsz, a Turner Prize-winning artist.
The work joins the more than 500 objects in the Foundation’s diverse contemporary art collection, which was begun by the late philanthropist Linda Pace.
From May 8-June 26, 2011, Sunset Song will be presented daily in CHRISpark, the one-acre park built by Pace in 2005...

FOUNDATION LOANS MESSAGER'S PROTECTION TO THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART IN MONTERREY MEXICO.
The Foundation recently loaned Annette Messager's Protection, from its collection to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Monterrey, Mexico. Messager was one of the three artists who inaugurated the International Artist-in-Residence program at Artpace, which was founded by Linda Pace in 1995. She made the piece on loan to MARCO in 1998.
